1. Interactive Online Assessment

Preparation

Now that you’ve applied you would have already been sent an email with a link to complete the Interactive Online Assessment (IOA).   You will have five days in which to complete the IOA.

The IOA is an online test made up of four sections which will take up to 40 minutes in total to complete.  These are:

  • Situational Judgement Test
  • Realistic Job Preview
  • Checking Exercise
  • Spatial Reasoning – ability to work with shapes

The IOA must be completed in full in one sitting.

You’ll be given more information on each of these sections once you start the assessment as you will not be required to prepare for this stage of the recruitment process.

These series of tests have been designed to act as an early stage in the assessment process to help give you some insight into the role.

It will help you to decide if being a Security Officer is right for you, whilst also giving us an early indication of your suitability.

These four sections are made up of some short videos, passages of text and pictures.

Some of these sections will have a time limit in which you’ll need to respond.

Please ensure that you are using a device that can play back sound and video.

The IOA is hosted by Tazio, a third-party provider, and may be completed on a variety of devices, such as smartphones, tablets, laptops and desktop computers.

We recommend that you use either Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.

The assessment cannot be accessed on either Internet Explorer or Opera.

Regardless of the device you use, please ensure that you are in a quiet environment where you can concentrate and will not be disturbed.

You’ll also need to ensure that you have an uninterrupted internet connection as you’ll require internet access throughout.

Adjustments

Here at Heathrow we’re proud to be recognised as a disability confident leader. If you have a disability for which you would like us to make any adjustment to the recruitment process, and you have not yet been contacted by a member of our recruitment team, please contact us on 0208 103 1959

What happens next?

Once you’ve completed the IOA you can expect to receive an outcome within 24 hours.

If you’ve been successful you will be invited to take part in an Audio Interview which is the fast track option and which you can complete at a time that works for you.

There will be an option to take part in a Telephone Interview if you prefer and you’re happy to wait.

If you select this option, then you will receive further instructions via email. The questions will be the same no matter which option you select.

You’ll also receive a feedback report on your performance in the Interactive Online Assessment, regardless of the outcome.

Throughout your recruitment journey there will be several opportunities for you to provide us with feedback on your experience. We’d appreciate you taking the time to tell us what you think when prompted.
