As a Heathrow Security Officer you’ll have access to a wide range of great benefits. 

See below a full list of what you can expect once you’ve joined us.

Bonus – Airport profit bonus linked to the financial success of Heathrow which means the more profitable Heathrow is the higher payment colleagues receive. Colleagues can influence Heathrow’s profit by treating every penny as our own and continuing to deliver world class airport service.

Pension – Every colleague is eligible to join the Defined Contribution Pension Plan. This enables colleagues to build up a pot of money that they can then use to provide an income in retirement.

Contribution rates to the plan are calculated against basic salary. Contribution rates are:

You can opt to contribute more than 8%, Heathrow will pay a maximum of 12%.

Pension contributions can be made via salary sacrifice which means colleagues pay less NI contributions.

Healthcare – Company subsidised Private Medical Healthcare for colleagues and their dependents.

Life Assurance – Death in Service benefit provided to colleagues is determined by whether they choose to participate in Heathrow’s available pension arrangements and which scheme they join. 

For colleagues that are members of the Defined Contribution Pension Plan, Life Assurance cover is eight times basic salary. 

Colleagues that are not members of the Company pension plan are eligible for three times salary.

Heathrow Advantage (discount shopping scheme) – This helps colleagues save money when shopping online, in store or by phone with access to over 1,600 discounts, cashback and voucher partners.

Annual Leave – Annual leave allowance of 25 days.

Cycle to Work – Heathrow supports sustainable means of transport and operates a Cycle Hub located next to the Heathrow Academy. 

The Cycle to Work scheme is a Government approved initiative whereby colleagues can purchase a bike from the shop via salary sacrifice up to a maximum of £2,500. 

The price is then deducted from gross salary in monthly instalments prior to income tax and National Insurance being charged. 

Colleagues who purchase a bike are also eligible for free maintenance at the Cycle Hub.

Heathrow Express – Our colleagues can access free travel on Heathrow Express at the weekends and after 18:00 during the week, and you’ll also receive 50% off all other journeys with Heathrow Express

Green Car Salary Sacrifice – This exciting benefit lets you choose from a wide range of brand new low and ultra-low emission cars. 

There is no requirement for a deposit and you can make monthly payments before your tax and NI contributions, offering great savings on brand new cars. 

This scheme includes insurance, servicing, maintenance, road tax and breakdown.

Holiday Car Parking – Colleagues have access to free parking in the Long Stay car parks at Heathrow when using the terminal facilities. 

The free long-term parking is available for a maximum of 31 days per calendar year for current colleagues.

Rental Deposit Loan – This scheme allows colleagues to loan up to one month’s salary interest free to help colleagues pay a deposit on a rented property.

Babylon – This is an online GP app that provides 24/7 access to GP appointments and health advice. 

The app is available free to Heathrow colleagues. 

This can be used anywhere in the world and the GPs can prescribe any medication you may need to get you back to full health.

Employee Assistance Programme – provided by Health Assured, this can help colleagues with a number of issues including access to counselling service, relationship issues, legal advice, financial advice, bereavement and retirement advice.

Physiotherapy support line – Colleagues can speak to a physiotherapist who can provide support and guidance to help colleagues self-manage recovery.
