7. Formal Offer

Your offer call will take place with a member of our Business Support Centre (BSC) Referencing & Vetting Team who will see you through the rest of your journey from here on in.

You will be given a named contact who will be in weekly contact with you to provide you with any updates, with increased contact in the later stages of the referencing and vetting process

This call should give you an understanding of what will happen next, and at each stage of the referencing process which takes on average between 14 – 15 weeks, sometimes longer.

During the offer call the BSC Referencing & Vetting Team will confirm the following:

  • An outline of the end to end referencing process – including what is required from you
  • Confirmation of what checks will be a requirement based upon the information that you have provided during the Security Interview. For example, for some an Overseas Criminal Record Check (OCRC) may be required
  • Explore further your employment history
  • An explanation of the Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) process
  • Confirm any holiday dates
  • Agree a target start date. This will be a provisional date as it will be dependent upon the time your referencing and vetting checks take

We always follow up this call with several emails relating to what has been discussed as we understand that this can be a lot of information to take in over the phone, for example, confirmation of the conditional offer points discussed during the call, a copy of your contract and information relating to the CRC and CTC.
